Great week at the MTC. my last week at the mtc. 5 days!!!! I leave on the 5th. we meet at the travel office at 10:00 am. Our flight from salt lake to georgia leaves at 1:50pm so hopefully i get to call you folks. i will try my hardest! then we get to georgia at 7:45pm and leave there to buenos aires at 8:50 pm. we land in buenos aires at 8:00 on the morning of the 6th. then i would imagine we take a flight to neuquen but i'm not 100% positive. then traveling our to our assigned areas which could be another couple hours. that part is not on our travel plans. i guess we will find out when i get there. no i cant think of anything that i absolutly need. i possibly might be sending a little home. but i doubt it. who knows. but that is our plans for our flight. be ready for a call cause i plan on calling but im not sure when. 

 

Yes Alex and Dylan both came. saw them both. it was way fun to see both of them. Alex isnt doing too well. im pretty sure he is going home. so he says. he has talked to his branch president. he said he doesnt feel it here. and his family isnt doing too well with him being gone. i think a portion of it might be his girlfriend. he said he still has a testimony and i know that but it just seems weird. he said he would send me a wedding invitation. we'll see what happens. i know the lord has some kinda plan for him whether he stays or goes. 

 

Last night ELDER HOLLAND CAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT WAS SOOOOOOOO SWEET!!!! such a great meeting. i hope it changed alexs attitude cause it sure did mine. as soon as he walked in. the spirit filled the room. he talked about missionaries. and how we are the "icon" of the church. and how we need to stay on our missions cause it will change our life. He said that the people in the church have the right to think missionaries are perfect, and that we as missionaries have the right to make that happen. he said with the profet we are the most prayed for set of individuals in the church. hands down. and that our generation of missionaries are the generation that the prophets and people in the bible and book of mormon dreamed of. They know that we would have so much more success and they knew that before this life we made the choice to come at this time to serve a mission because god knew we could do it. he also said that one thing that god wants us to know right know is that everything christ said was true. everything god says is true and will come to pass. and that god loves us. I literaly felt god was right in the room talking to me through elder holland. i have never felt so right about serving a mission as i did right at that moment. that moment changed my mission. i literaly felt god was right in that room. and i want the people in argentina to feel that love that god has for each one of us. it is so amazing. i am very excited to go to argentina. elder holland said this is our time to be apostolic witnesses. and to have that with us this whole two years and help those people feel of christs love for them. i wouldnt give this gospel up for anything. 

 

We got new teachers this week. they are pretty sweet. im excited. its only a week with them. not too bad. Hermano Hardcastle and Hermano Scott. 

 

Get to do the in-field training on friday then on monday we are off. SOOOOO EXCITED!!!! :) :)

 

sound like stuff is going good at home. hope kayla keeps doing better. Love ya little sis! :) tell ol bro to keep chuggin along. keep working hard! tell laur and dan that i love em. i love watching the deaf elders and sister sign. makes me think of laurie and daniel. Thanks mom and dad for everything. for keeping me on the right path to be on this mission. i've never wanted something so bad than to serve a mission and now is my time to shine and you have put me here and i am forever in debt for this. I love you so much family. the gospel is true. share it with everyone. share your testimonies. they are the biggest blessing ever. (besides our AWESOME family!!!! :) :) )

Here's my week!

Hey familia!!!

 

another great week here at the mtc. my ankles are doing great. they always have sucked so im not too worried about them. so yesterday we met with the argentine consulate and signed for our VISA´s. I am soooooo stoked to be out of the MTC. we are looking at about 12 more days here. not a big deal. we get our travel plans tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yeah baby!!!!!!!! i am so excited! im ready to go and see argentina. so good news for laurie. brian green is here. i saw him sunday. he was infront of me in the lunch line. so with the investigators. we dont have miguel anymore. our teacher decided to have us just teach him. so now we teach Kyle. our teacher. its fun just to discuss with him the things he needs in his life. its almost like we are pschycologists. its fun. and..........RAMON COMMITTED TO BAPTISM!!!! so he is finding a date for him. we still have to teach lesson 4. the commandments and make sure he is keeping those. i feel that one is going to be hard but with the lords help he can do it. we switch teachers next monday. the weird curriculum here makes it so we have 2 brand new teachers a week before we leave. lame. but all is well with that. i need to start speaking more español. i have kinda been slacking. but i will work on it. things are great here. sang in the choir yesterday. going to the temple later on today. it is so nice to be able to go to the temple just cause i wont be able to for probably two years. this morning an older gentelman came up to me and my companion and started talking to us. he works here. and its funny cause the last two times someone has said can i offer advice and i accept. its been about marriage. so this guy says. ¨when you come home and your looking for mrs. right. if you feel 100% in your mind and heart. grab her then. i kinda laughed but then thought it was weird thinking about marriage but i hear they give you more talks about it at the end of the mission. are any of my brothers or sister working on that. any dates so far. let me hear all about them. I decided i want to learn a bit of portugese BUT...........that will have to wait. cause at this moment i am tired of the portugese elders. they are soooooo annoying. its hard hearing portugese. it just makes me cringe. no offense dad. i love ya still. but that doesnt mean i hate the language. i will pick some of it up i promise. haha.

 

i¨ve learned a thing or two here at the mtc. the lord loves me. he answeres my prayers. i guess i didnt take being a member seriously before my mission. we are so tremendously blessed i love it. its fun to see how the spirit and god can work on your side alot when your obediant. i have learned so many things here. i love you family. take care.

 

ps. i think i get to call home when i am in the airport so we will have to work something out.

 

got to go get my haircut. cutting it all off!!!! almost....

HOLA FAMILIA!!!!!

 

como estan ustedes. estoy bien en la CCM. haha what is up kids!!! its been an interesting week haha as always. i saw megans wedding announcement maybe you could mail that to me mom. i got the pdf of it on this computer here but she said she was poor and couldnt send me one. but that little squirt. she is all grown up now. good deal. so guess what. 19 DAYS BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ah i am sooooo excited to go to argentina hahaha. one of the teachers here served in our mission and i saw pictures it looks so sweet. dirt roads everwhere. :) first things first. my leg muscles are HUGE!!! oh baby. i walk four flights of stairs every day at least 12 times. its ridiculous. our class is on the 4th floor and our room is on the 3rd floor of our dorm. so i walk stairs tonz! ANYWHO. glad to hear about the crops growing in our fine little garden. thanks laurie for writing me :) so dad. merrell j bateman is just your kinda guy. i knew you liked him. and no he wasnt boring just cause you liked him. he just isnt my style. you know me. so yesterday we sang the motab version of lead kindly light. nailed it. as we always do. sprained my ankle again. as ususal. but all is well mother. i am fine. just know that my ankles have always been bad and always will. speaking of basketball, yesterday i swooshed a 3 point shot......(shocker i know).....but it was backwards!!!!!!!!!! i shot it backwards and swooshed it. the gym went crazy for yours truely. KPR. ya i am kinda a big deal here now. i am on a last name basis with all people now. hahaha jk. so 2 experiences this week. we will start with miguel. (hermano jarmins investigator) so both these stories we planned a totally different lesson than what we tought mind you. so we teach miguel how important it is to read the bom and find out if its true. he says he just doesnt want to. so we say the same stuff like three times. and he kicks us out. no joke. come to find out. he cant read. go figure. so we have basicly been telling him that he needs to read it in order to gain a testimony, be baptized and be with his family forever, but he cant cause he cant read. so he has hard feelings against the church.

 

2nd story. this one is sick.

so ramon. we go in planning to teach about baptism. he has questions about 2nd nephi 31. tounge of angels. we answer it. and i asked him if he believed this book is true. he said it was good. that nothing bad comes from it. so me and my companion bore testimony for like 10 minutes straight about how we know. how we came to know. and how he can know. we made hime read the last 2 paragraphs in the introduction about the book of mormon and how we need to ask god if it is true. he at this time with tears in his eyes. i bore testimony saying. "ramon, prometo Dios tiene una respuesta por usted,........PROMETO" (translation, ramon, i know god has an answer for you. i promise.) with tears still in his eyes we decided to pray. he prayed to ask if it was true. the prayer ended and as i looked at ramon with tears flowing down his face. my companion said "que sente ahora" (translation, what do you feel now) and ramon answered. I feel good. i know this book is true.

 

what a testimony my family of the truthfullness of the book of mormon. i do have a testimony that it is true. i have read it. i have asked god and i know for a fact it is true. i commend dad and mom for reading it faithfully with our family. the book is true. so is this chuch.

 

we get new roomates today. they go to california. hope they are cool. love ya family. miss ya. think about ya everyday!!!

another great week at the mtc. glad to hear that everyone is doing well and safe. its been a long week but only four more weeks and i am off to Argentina baby. one month down. the elders that we room with and the ones next door left on monday and tuesday. the two we roomed with elder Davies and Elder dickinson both left to idaho and to iowa. elder pitt and elder pederson went to maryland and elder richards went to virginia. it was fun to spend our last nights together. good group of elders. every elder here becomes your best friend. we finally got our new teacher Hermano Jarmin. he is from arizona, he went to spain on his mission. any spanish speaker hates spain for two reasons. 1 is they use the vosotros conjugation which spanish speakers never use. and their dumb accent. they pronounce their C, S, Z with a "th" sound. it sounds soooooo dumb. but they are proud of it. he sounds so funny when he talks. we just laugh. the investigator he does is Miguel. Miguel doesnt like the missionaries much. his wife is a member but he hates the missionaries so when we go to appointments with him, he just yells at us. its way fun. hahaha Elder Merrell Bateman came and talked to us on tuesday. he was kinda boring. took a few notes but i knew dad likes him. we got a new district last wednesday. i dont know them very well. we had three hermanas leave to the guatamala mtc yesterday for six weeks.

my companion is the district leader. its rough cause now we have to strictly keep the rules. the old district leader is the new zone leader. elder drout and elder johansen. they will do well. elder johansen is so funny. he wants to hang out a ton after the mish.

got your package!!! THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH!!!! the picture is on my desk in the room and i just loved everything in there. i also got a dear elder package from sarah with some goodies and a little letter in it. i enjoyed it :)

got my hair cut a few weeks ago, and i need to get it cut again. you know how i like my hair.

i met an Elder Ross from idaho the other day. i got pictures with him. he is going to peru. he walked passed me and said "hey elder ross, i'm elder ross, nice to meet ya" we talked for a bit.

So i've recived alot of talk on the college thing here. im torn of where to go. i have good friends going to utah state. (which is probably where i will go for my generals after the mish), elder davis is going to snow. elder davies wants me to go to byu idaho. he says its called byu ido for a reason( BYU I DO). then got a few friends going to the U. idk where i want to go.

Eric Nielson dear eldered me. i wrote back to him today. sounds like his family is doing well.

So laurie will like this.....Brian Green who played for Utah State basketball is in my building. he is on the bottom floor. i might get a pic with him. Elder Pederson who just left said he could beat him just cause he is tall. he said defensivly he could beat him. but he would lose. so i said well if he wins that means your defense wasnt good. cause he won. anywho.

i am starting to dream in spanish more and more. its kinda cool how it works,

Rhet Gardner from high school is here finally. i've seen him around a few times. he seems to be doing well.

So on sunday i guess i am playing a musical number in sacrament, so i need to go practice on that sometime today. wish me luck.

have you gotten anything from megan yet? sarah said she saw pics on facebook and they looked cute. i wonder if she sent out the invitations.

sarah isnt dating that kid anymore. just fyi in case ya even cared!! hahaha

life is great, still working on those pictures, i got them printed but the book store doesnt have them yet. idk what the deal is but i will for sure get them sent as soon as i get them. for sure. i owe alot of people pictures.

Elder pitt handed down a salina gomez picture to me so that is on my wall also hahaha

glad to hear the family is doing well. miss ya lots but this is all worth it. the spanish is coming along slowly but i can see the lords hand in this. im a million times better than i was when i left. love ya family and god bless.

Almost a month @ the MTC

FAMILY!!!!

its so sweet to see what goes on back at home! i love it! yes maybe can you send my lebron 7s. the black and gold basketball shoes. my ankles are going down hill. but esta bien. i always say that now. it means its all good. esta bien. we had a sweet fireside yesterday with the one and only........GERALD N LUND!!!! yeah mom i knew you would be jealous! haha he is soooo cool. i loved his talk about faith and how we can develope it and help investigators develope it. and we sang this way pretty arrangement of behold the wounds in jesus' hands. it was soooo pretty. i teared up during it. the spirit was so strong. its awesome.

not to much going on this week. just teaching the investigators. patricia is doing well. we incorperated the atonement in the lesson and the spirit guided us cause we werent going to talk about the atonement but thats what was prompted. we had two subsitute teachers this week. hermano b and hermano rosales. hermano b was cool but at the first of class he told me to go shave. i was so embarrased. he was a marine. i hate marines. but the spirit he brought during the lesson totally changed my heart. he was my buddy after the lesson. hermano rosales was my teacher hermano harveys teacher in the mtc. he was way sweet. we had to teach him. we planned to teach lesson 1 but we ended up teaching lesson 2 which is the plan of salvation cause his story was that he had a brother that just died. so we were guided by the spirit the whole lesson. it was way sweet. esta bien.

i promise i will get some pictures to you. today i hope to go get them printed, so maybe in two days i will send them. thats when i get them back. i have quite a bit. sarah is the only one who wrote me this week. she is dating this guy. jason? so.....ya.

its been a good week. i usually carry around a paper with stuff i want to write down to tell you but i didnt. i will have to this week.

my buddie rhet gardner from hi-lites came into the mtc this past wednesday. and we get ta new district today. its fun we just watch all the new missionaries come in and welcome them. i was once in their shoes. and we greet the hosts. tell them "welcome to the mtc" they get all confused cause most of them have been here longer than us. so its fun just to mess with them. get to go to the temple today. we decided to do our laundry at 6 this morning. we were going to go to the temple with the other district but i guess decided not to. im not sure.

love it here. it gets better everyday. the church is true. do work
