Good Week in Trelew

BUENOS DIAS FAMILIA!!!!

oh the mission life is just great!!! love it here. stuff is really good. P day so far has been good, we cleaned the pencion (apartament) and now we are emailing, later we are going to go shopping for ties. yeah baby! we eat alot. just cause i love to eat. but we have lunch with the members about everyday here. it depends but most the time we have lunch. yeah its pretty normal to speak spanish and nothing else. and i am pretty sure i have come to the point on my mission that i can understand everything. i cant talk perfect but i get alot of complements from people for the time i have on the mission. I was thinking yesterday and by the end of this transfer i will have 8 months on the mission. by the end of 2 more transfers i will have completed a year on the mission!!!!!! oh my goodness. my mission is almost over!!!

for my week and what happened. On tuesday we accidentally knocked a bar. haha we were just knocking as usual and the man pointed above at a sign and sure enough, we knocked a bar. and on friday was zone conference, it was super good to see all the elders. and on saturday we did divisions, i went with elder gonzalez. he is from california. pretty tight. we had a super good time. we just had alot of good success this week. we are starting to see the blessings of working hard and persistant. no one is baptised yet but we are working towards it. just been super busy taking a partial senior comp lead and focusing in speaking spanish. alot of things came and hit me in the head this week (not literally) but things after the mission. and the things i learned on my mission. the time flies by here. and the things that are happening back home are crazy! haha but its all good haha i love hearing from you kids.

This past couple days has been a good experience. I was able to promise alot of people blessings if they followed our council as missionaries and servants of the Lord Jesus Christ. Also i felt super confident doing it because i know the lord will follow through on his part. Zone conference made this all possible in thinking this way. I have a question for you guys. Hmna Peterson (President Petersons wife) asked me what blessings my family has recieved in my service as a missionary. I told her that i wasnt quite sure. so she told me to ask you mom. What are some of the blessings you have recieved as a family for my service as a missionary. just curious is all. Thanks. Keep reading the scriptures and praying. you will be blsessed. love ya!!!!

Monday's News

HEY FOLKS!!!!!

Oh just another wonderful week on the block of Union II. Just wonderful as always. We worked very hard this week. Nothing super funny or exciting this week. Today i bought two new ties. i got a package from shannon. with a tie and lots of melted chocolate. haha. And a letter from Rebecca Kitzmiller, well it was a christmas card. she was on seminary council with me. and dads letter. as always. thanks pops. just working hard, its a little difficult cause now i have senior comp responsibilites which i didnt have alot of before. My companion is senior comp but  he doesnt know the area and stuff so i am doing all the planning, calling, everything. its good for me. keeps my head in the work. the spanish is alot better. i got alot of compliments on my spanish this week. everyone thought i had been here for more than a year cause of how good i can speak. the lord has really blessed me. they also think that i am training my companion. they think he is new. they always ask him if he is new on the mission. and the people think i am like 24 years old here. they never believe me when i say 19. haters. haha jk. its good tho. i love the mission.
I did buy a new packpack. everything is good here. just keep trucking along. Ol mom you are just always so busy with things. look at you go. you and ol dad are just keeping the family running. haha. I dont ever hear from laurie or daniel haha. suckers. but i did talk to ol nate about the dating thing. hey dan if you are reading this, did you complete with your committment? better have boy. but stuff on the mission is good.

So i had a cool experience saturday. All of our appointments at 8 oclock fell through. me being the one to find something to do at this point, i had no idea. so we started doing street contacts. no success. there was no one in the street. litterally. so i stopped and said a prayer in my heart. asking heavenly father if he could bless me with inspiration to find someone to teach. I had two people pop into my head. an old contact that we found knocking doors, and another old contact that we could never find home. We tried the first one, nothing. so i thought to myself "their is no way we are going to find anyone", we knock the door of the second person down the street. He answers the door. I asked if he had 15 minutes to talk. He said yes. He let us in. An answer to my prayers and a testimony to you all that the lord does answer prayers. The lord listens to our prayers. He always listens.  keep praying and doing the good things. love you all

News for you

funny thing. my backpack ripped this week. i felt pretty bomb. wore our my backpack on the mish. not a big deal. and my shoes are taking a beating, they arent retired yet but they are pretty thrashed. we do work here walking. had to sew a shirt that ripped on a piece of barbed wire, and sewed my pants on the mish. thank you very much. (mom)

so the information on your questions haha. this week. was not easy. i was hard to leave my companion. my pops in the mission. we were super tight. but...my companion from chile is a studd. we kicked some anti mormon trash this week. a few round house kicks to the face if ya know what i mean. My companion is a hard worker. we found some new investigators this week. one lady believes that god is an energy, not a person. so we need a bit of work with her. and we are teaching a kid that is 11 years old. then teaching a dude who has some speech and mental problems but i am pretty sure we will baptise all the people we have been and are teaching while i am here. my companion has taught me alot. our days are pretty gnarly, wake up, exercise (ocasionally) haha, then studies. we go out at 10:30 then at 12 or 12;30 we usually eat, then after that its just all appointments or contacting or knocking. that usually is what a day is like. pretty sweet. haha

So I had a good learning experience this week, something I learned with my new companion. How to ask inspired questions. We found alot of doubts people had this week through asking inspired questions, with that we were able to teach to there needs and then invite to baptism. Their is scripture to back me up in this but i promise if we have the spirit with us we can know what to say in the moment we need it. If we sit a minute and let the spirit work with us, we can know the things we need to say when we want to share the gospel with someone. share the gospel

Glad the family is doing well. Hope ol sis kayla gets more animated. tell her to email me. i want to talk with her. keep doing good things. you will be blessed. Love you all!

Hello to You

FAMILY!!!!!

Dont worry mother i just enjoy showing people that I love what i do and what i believe in. And i do show it with love to them. Stuff here is good. My companion is Elder Newey. He is from Cedar Hills Utah. (pleasant grove area). We get along MARVELOUS. But the marvelous always has to come to an end sometimes. That time was on saturday when we got transfer information. My companion is leaving me and going to Zapala. I will be staying here in beautiful trelew and Elder Carquín will be my new companion at 10:30 tonight when he arrives. Elder Carquín is from Chile as far as i know. I know nothing else of him so you will have to wait til next week to find out more information. Yes i now have a latin companion folks. The spanish 24/7 is now on. We learn alot here on the mission. More that i ever would or ever did before the mission.

My week goes as follows: We talked to a man who told us he was Jesus. That was interesting. And on the 6th I hit my 6 month mark.......ya thats about all that happened this week. Almost everyone we went to go visit ended up fodging us. They werent there. So ya. Just spent alot of time taking pictures of my companion and the families he wanted pictures with. It will be a sad day today. My trainer leaves. He has taught me a ton. We had tonz of fun on the mission. Just memories up the wa zoo. But i am excited for a change and get to improve with my spanish and work a little bit harder. so ya.

But I have talked alot with Elders on the mission about the mission. Something about the mission changes a person. If they really have a desire to be out. I may be only out for 6 months but i feel like i have learned so many things about life. The way i conduct my life and the things i do. the decisions about the future. So many things. Its just something you cant explain. You gotta serve a mission to find it out and feel it. Thats why its so critical for every worthy young man to serve a mission. I love everything about the mission. Yes there are days when you just think "why am i even here" but then the lord blesses you with hundreds of those moments when you think "ah, thats why i am here". Those moments make it worth it. Love you family. Keep praying, reading, going to the temple.

Happy New Year !!!

OH MY FAMILY!!!!
Man it was sure good talking to you guys!!!!! It was a bit frustrating cause the video quality here kinda sucked but at least I got to talk to you folks. I liked ol phil´s beard he had going, pretty gnarly. Yes my package was awesome! I did get the memory card but i when i put the card in my camera it says their isnt any pictures so i am going to go to a photo printing shop and see if i can get it to show up there. I left my camera at the zone leaders house so i will have to send some pictures next week. The baptisms are coming along but that good story will come a little later. cause i have two weeks worth of information to tell you kids about. yeah i dont get any regular emails from laurie or daniel or kayla. so i think it might be a good idea to tell them to email me. I know they have busy lives but 15 minutes out of their week isnt going to hurt to email their brother who hardly hears from them. so let that be a warning haha. I get all of dads letters. sounds like everyone is still being busy at home.

So about the past two weeks. The week before christmas we tried finding alot of investigators singing christmas hymns. It sound dumb, singing christmas songs in the hot blazing sun right. It worked for one lady and another guy but we never could find them in their houses after that. so we spent alot of time trying to sing to people but no one wanted to hear my josh groban voice. Their loss. haha. So on the 22nd we went to Gaiman for the ward christmas party. They did an activity where we had to say one material thing we were greatful for. Of course i said, Book of Mormon. and everyone just laughed and was saying "thats the missionary in the corner", doesnt sound very funny but i guess you just had to be there. Then on friday the 23rd we found out that our ward mission learders in Gaimans wife passed away that day. Which was crazy cause we had just seen her the day before at the party in Gaiman. Our poor mission leader is taking it pretty hard. He is a good guy. but the lord will bless them. Then on the night of the 23rd we went to the christmas parties of the two other areas in our district in which i played an on the spot christmas piano number. The members were super impressed. on the 24th we had pday from 5pm on. so we went to hang with the other elders. Ate tacos and watched the ridiculous fireworks here. Its crazy. they shoot them off for like a half an hour. it was way sweet. Then christmas sunday we went to church and sang with a family, two musical numbers. acapella. i sang tenor. nailed my part. as usual. then we went back to the apartment and slept. for like 6 hours. monday i called you kids and bashed with this guy that was evangelical who told us that joseph smith is a liar and that we are following the devil and its because we are white and from the united states is why he wont read the book of mormon and all this garbage, then the real elder ross came out and set that fool in his place. i told him whats up and how our church is the only true church on the face of this earth and just whooped his hiney with my testimony. Then on the 27th, i woke up with 35 mosquito bites. 35!!!!!!  by the end of the week i ended with 40. Then on the 28th was the day of all days on my mission. No one as usual wants to talk to us as we are doing contacts in the street. Then we meet up with this preacher, who tells us that we are teaching a false doctrine and that Joseph smith is a liar and all sorts of dumb stuff. Then as we were walking at talking about this we decided to do a contact with a younger guy, so my companion approaches him and he asked if we could shake his hand. He blew past him, so i took a try. Asked the same thing, he turned around and spìt on me. This guy spit on me. I got spit on. I was furious!!!!!! but i got thinking and i realized that i am doing this for the church, for the lord cause i love him. and we were blessed. We found a bunch of new investigators, put a baptismal date. and the rest of the week was history and we ended the week with 6 baptsmal dates. Then on saturday we went with the other elders and made tacos again and celebrated the new year with them. watched more fireworks. then on sunday we slept alot cause this sunday and last sunday were p days. we could either visit members or stay in the pención. so yeah that was our two weeks. pretty sweet.  so ya. love ya fam!!!!!!
